Do you like to drink soda?

Yes, and I think I like too much. I now have a self-imposed rule to not drink softdrinks on Sundays.

If you were going to get a tattoo, what tattoo would you get?

I'd ink a bible verse on my skin. Here are the options:

Proverbs 11:25
"A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."

Psalm 112:5
"Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice."

Proverbs 27:17
"Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice."

musician or athlete?

Are you asking if I am a musician or an athlete?

I would say I am more of a musician. I would oblige invitations to karaoke bars. I love singing my heart out! In addition, I play the piano. I have a hard time reading notes though. I usually refer to the chords.

That doesn't I've got no sporty side. I play a couple of sports like bowling, table tennis and badminton. At times, I enjoy extreme sports.

It's just that you'll see me immersing myself in music most of the time.

What quality do you value most in your friends?

This is a tough question to answer. Off the top of my head, I value the diversity of the friends that I have. I truly appreciate the fact that although we may have different interests, personalities and character, still get along pretty well and value the presence of one another.

Turnover on Friday!

My mom told me that turnover of our unit will be this Friday! You have no idea how excited I am. So our interior designer is keeping up with the timeline.  The final look must be in on or before Friday.

She sent me the following pegs for the entertainment center to choose from:

The mother likes this.

This one, I like.

And this.
What do you think?

Speaking of entertainment, I check out some LED TV sets with Ramil yesterday. I particularly liked the Sony BRAVIA KDL32EX600 32-Inch HDTV and Samsung LED HDTV. Honestly, I like the quality of Samsung better, but a Sony TV will be nice to go with a Sony PlayStation. :D

Either way, I have to start saving up for it, in case the father doesn't have plans on buying one.

Scatola by Rajo Laurel

Given the limited space of a condo unit, it's ideal to bring in multifunctional items. This ottoman, recommended by Shi, doubles as a "sofa bed," which makes it perfect for my living space-to-be.

I'm surprised to find out that this piece is designed by known Filipino fashion designer Rajo Laurel

My Captain by Dorothea Day

Out of the night that dazzles me,
Bright as the sun from pole to pole,
I thank the God I know to be
For Christ the conqueror of my soul.

Since His the sway of circumstance,
I would not wince nor cry aloud.
Under that rule which men call chance
My head with joy is humbly bowed.

Beyond this place of sin and tears
That life with Him! And His the aid,
Despite the menace of the years,
Keeps, and shall keep me, unafraid.
I have no fear, though strait the gate,
He cleared from punishment the scroll.
Christ is the Master of my fate,
Christ is the Captain of my soul.

Project: Perfect Pad

IMG_9727

Last Saturday morning, together with interior designer Tina Ilano, we traveled to Taguig to check out our condo unit (which I will hopefully call home in the coming months) and start planning on its design and interiors.

The challenge to turn this empty unit into an attractive living space begins. Project: Perfect Pad starts now! Good thing we have an interior designer to unify what I want and what the mother wants. ;)

I can't wait to start bringing in furniture, accessories and my personal stuff! Hehe!

Allow me to give you a virtual walk-through...

If you can't say something nice...

...don't say anything at all.

I'm known to many as one who is frank and has an acerbic tongue. Most of the time, I do not sugarcoat when I state comments, opinions or advice. I believe that it's the best way to get your point across, but it is one of my characteristics that people either love or hate.

Recently, one of my dearest friends boldly gave a piece of his mind and told me that I should refrain from going overboard in uttering loathsome words no matter how true they seem to be. It was a brave move, and it was something I needed. Because of that, I respected my friend even more and held him more dearly.

It is true that at times, I cross the line of being offensive. I sometimes forget that I have the responsibility to hold back and think twice before speaking up. There are appropriate ways to say things and sometimes, it is better to keep my mouth shut.

Moving forward, I'll fuse into my lifestyle the habit of not saying anything if I don't have nice things to say. It's a real challenge and it may take a while before I get used to it, but I have to start somewhere.

Still Single on Valentine's Day

Aside from the fact that it's a day before payday, February 14 never really meant anything special to me. Go figure. (Did you just feel the angst in that statement? Hehehe!) I didn't have the need to book dinner reservations, plan surprises or buy gifts. It's always been another ordinary day.

However, whenever Valentine's Day comes, I always ask myself the perennially unanswered question, "Why am I still single?" I'm not a jerk. In fact I know I'm good (and I apologize for the egotism). I'm not THAT attractive, but I know I'm decent enough. And yet, why does it seem like I am not loveable in a "romantic" way? I've always contemplated about it thinking that maybe there's something wrong with me or there things that I must change.

Honestly, it bothered me for a time.

Alone for the Weekend

My family already left for Pampanga for the Hot Air Balloon Festival. I opted to stay and find some zen. I do have to attend to work-related stuff, but who knows, maybe I'd get the chance go out and chill later.

I'm here in my room listening to some bossa nova tracks most of which are included in my playlist entitled "Tones of the Tropics." The warm weather makes it so conducive to head to the beach and enjoy the sun, sea and sand. Oh well, that would have to wait. I have to settle for sound tripping for now.
